Our Secret - Chapter 5

Kanon stared blankly, which makes Yukko furious.

"Like I said, why you didn't tell me Kanon-chan?", Yukko said half-shouted.

Kanon didn't reply instead, she looked away. Kanon's silence makes Yukko's boiling and started to cry. Yagami watched the whole scene did not dare to make a move. He knows that Yukko is hot-tempered.

After he told her about Kanon situation, Yukko was speechless. She started blabbering and crying for about an hour. Yagami listened to her though he knows that every single person in that cafe heard everything and at the end of their meeting he had to bow several times and apologize to the cafe manager for making such a scene in their cafe.

So, to summarize for this incident. At lunch time, Yukko rushed to Kanon's class without saying a word. She literally dragged the sleeping Kumi and Kanon to the rooftop. Kanon listened to Yukko and stayed silent. Kumi tried to make things calm but was silent by Yukko glare.

"I am sorry Yukko-chan, I don't want to trouble you with my problem. You always helped me and this time let me handle this problem myself."Kanon explained everything.

Yukko heard everything but that doesn't make her anger any calm. She grabbed Kumi by his shirt and shoved him in front of Kanon.

"Why did you tell him, this creepy otaku Kanon?"

Kumi gulped and looked at Kanon for help.

"Well, things happened Yukko-chan"Kanon grinned which make Yukko angry and smacked Kumi on his head.

Kanon and Kumi had to explain everything to Yukko

"So, things like that happen too. I thought that applies only in manga or movies."said Yukko while looking at both Kumi and Kanon. Kanon grinned at Yukko.

"Ne, Yukko-chan, please don't be angry at Kumi-kun, he helped me" said Kanon tugging Yukko's shirt. Yukko cannot resist Kanon's plead. She patted Kanon's head and hugged her. Kumi relieved and sighed. He thought he will be murder by this girl.

"I guess I'll go first. Takayanagi want me to do report for the school budget. See you" Kanon excused herself and ran to stair and left Yagami and Kinoshita alone.

"Don't expect me to approve you, Yagami." She glared at him and smirked.

"What are you trying to say?" he said and hold glasses.

"I don't trusted you yet. I had this feeling that you are up to something Yagami." She walked closer. She stared and pointed her finger at him. "If anything happen to Kanon, I swear I will kill you or else..."

"If you kill me, I will let my friend post this video on school web"

He showed a video on his iphone to Yukko. Yukko blushed and she gripped her punch. Yagami realised what that Yukko will do to him, he ran quickly, leaving Yukko screaming alone.

After school, Kumi and Kanon walking home together. Kumi hummed a song and walked slightly faster than Kanon. Kanon noticed. She walked faster to match his step. Kimi heard Kanon stomping, he held her hand. Kanon blushed and hold his hand.

"Well Kanon-chan, you better tell me about that Kinoshita girl. She really cares about you."Kumi said softly and remembering her reaction about her sleeping video that Kumi caught recently.

"She is my dear friend. She has a very big family and I don't to burden her with my problem." Kanon sighed and regret her action. Kumi understand.

"You can tell her now, can you? You've got me already, right?" Kumi looked at her and held her hand tighter to assured her.

"Sure"

Our Secret - Chapter 4

"Hello Yagami, I guess you've done your job very well right?"

"Sure ma'am, everything is just like your plan, when it is finish you will see."

"Confident are you? We'll see and one more thing Yagami, don't ever call me "ma'am" remember?"

"Sorry about that.....miss"

"I'll call you again"

"Do you guys realize, lately Kanon-chan been talking to that Yagami? I mean, its not that bad but its weird", said Kinchan while fixing her hair.

"Is that true? Kanon is cute but that Yagami is creepy, I don't know Kanon like that kind of guy" Akari said.

"I don't think that's the problem Kinchan, i\I think Kanon is in some kind of trouble. Maybe that Yagami is black mailing her."said Yukko.

Everyone in the school know Kinoshita Yukiko a.k.a Yukko. She is the school president. Her father is Japanese and her mother is Spanish. Despite being half, Yukko is a clever girl and a hard worker. Kanon is her rival in everything. Last year, Yukko signed up for the election of their student council. She hope that Kanon would sign up for the same thing so, they could compete. However, Kanon withdrew at the last minute, which make Yukko the President. 

"Who is this Yagami?"asked Yukko.

"Thats me."said Yagami who is just passing by the corridor.

"Whoa, you startled me!"said Kinchan who jumped out of shock.

"So, you are Yagami",said Yukko while holding her fist.

"Kumi, what time is your part-time job again?"asked Kanon half-shouted from her brother's room.

"Don't worry Kanon, it will be in another hour and it is nearby anyway"said Kumi.

It been three weeks since Kumi and Kanon found out about each other secret. Kumi often visit Kanon after school and weekends to hang out. Kanon talked to Kumi about his visits but Kumi will just smile and said,"Nobody would recognize me anyway"

After that, Kanon stopped her talking and ignored. She like Kumi hanging out at her house. She won't be alone again. There are times when they watched movies, studied together and making cakes. Although Kumi is a boy but he is very good with the house chores.

"Kanon, I think somebody is following us."

"Stop joking Kumi, what are you? A Yakuza? That must be your imagination."

"Yeah you are right. That must be my imagination only",said Kumi and peering to the curtain while watching a certain someone whose been following them since this afternoon.

"How long you've been following me?"

"Oh, you have realized that Yagami", said Yukko revealing herself behind the telephone booth.

"Didn't I make myself clear Kinoshita-san, we are just friend. That's that."said Kumi holding his anger.

"Well, I know that Yagami. I bet you forgot that I am the school president and you break the school rules Yagami. What are you doing in that club anyway? You are still underage you know. I have proof," 

Yukko chuckled and show a picture from her phone. Kumi was speechless. He didn't expect that coming.

"So, what do you want me to do?"Kumi said trying to play the strings.

"Well, I don't think you can do what I am about to say to you."Yukko said and placing her face near Kumi's. Kumi hold his breath.

"Seriously Yagami, you are pretty good-looking. Why do you dress like a creepy otaku at school? You will be popular among the girls."said Yukko and examining Kumi's face.

"Mind your own business Kinoshita-san"

"Like I said before Yagami,  if you don't want this picture to spread out I want you to stay away from Kanon."

Kumi looked at Yukko then smirked.

"We'll see about that Kinoshita-san."

"Kumi, you didn't come to my house or hang out. Are you sick?"asked Kanon at lunch.

It been three days since Kumi last come to her house. Honestly, Kanon felt lonely. Maybe he got problem or may found Kanon is too boring. Recent incident made Kanon believed, Kumi like her. 

However, Kanon doubted that fact. Kumi is mysterious. Somehow, she felt at ease when he is around.

"I am fine Kanon." Kumi said and left Kanon with questions

"Yagami, why do you want to see me huh?"said Yukko.

Yukka sat down and faced Kumi. Kumi didn't answer her. He shoved a big envelope on the table which gives Yukko a frown on her face.

"What is this? You gave me money? I don't take bribe Yagami",said Yukko while playing with her hair.

"Look inside and you'll know", Kumi said calmly.

Yukko didn't dare to ask question while Kumi is glaring at her. Quickly, she opened the envelope and she did not believe her eyes.

"How do you know about her?"said Yukko and slamming her hand the table. Fortunately, there are no customer around except a waiter running to their table asking about the ruckus. Kumi waved his hand signaling its okay.

"Why Kinoshita-san? Are you afraid that people will know?"

Yukko bit her lip.

"Are you afraid that, this picture will spread around the school?"

Yukko hold her tear.

"Are you afraid that, people will that you are in love with a girl?"

"Shut up Yagami" Yukko cried and tear the picture into pieces. Kumi expected that to happen. So, he showed a video in his iPhone, showing Yukko and a certain girl holding her hand and kissing her. Yukko was surprised.

"I hate you"

"Yeah whatever, if you didn't blackmail me, this won't happen."Kumi looked at Yukko wiping her tears which ruined her makeup. 

"Why did you hate me being friends with Kanon? Out of sudden, you just came to me and shouting my name in the corridor. Ordering me to stay away from Kanon. So, tell me."

Yukko sighed.

"You heard about the rivalry between me Kanon right. Well, that is true. Last year, we used to be best friends. We were very close even though we compete against each other in studies. Few months ago, we were not in the same class anymore. After that, we didn't talk much at school. I did ask her but she always said she is fine. I know she got problem. Recently Yagami, you are very closed with Kanon. What are you to her?"

"You said you used to be her best friends. Maybe Kanon knows that you likes girls and she is avoiding you,"said Kumi and smirked.

"No way, I cared about Kanon. She is like my little sister. If you know something, please tell me Yagami,"pleaded Yukko.

"Okay"

Confession

I just opened some of my folders then I found this lovely picture of my Kami-oshi. Seriously, I am not over Kuumin's graduation and others too (Katsuo, Shiitan an Kanako). Well, I've been trying to leave this fandom since the graduation. However, I hope that, there will be a tiny chance for me to meet her. I know that is very impossible to meet her as an SKE member but maybe someday I will.

Ignore this creepy person who cannot get over Kuumin's graduation.

Ignore me who cannot find another oshimen after Kuumin graduated.

Ignore the selfish me.

Our Secret - Chapter 3

Yagami went home. It seems like his parents were still at the shop. Yet, he still is lying on the couch, thinking about earlier incident. That was very bold of him to hug her, but he cannot stop at his urge of comforting her. She looks delicate and fragile. Her tears made him wanted to protect her and hold her tight in his embrace. Then, he knew that is not going to happen. He had a secret. A secret that tied him and burden him. Well, at least he is by her side.

"Yeah, at the very least I am by her side now"

That night, Yagami texted Kanon,

Hi Kanon, how are doing? Can I come to tomorrow if it’s not bothering you

Hi Kumi-kun, I am fine. :) But before that can you promise me you won't tell the other about my situation. Sure you can come tomorrow after school. And can you do me a favor?

Yup, what is that?

Can you accompany to the Sakae-mart tomorrow before we go to my house? I heard there are having a midyear sale this week. :D

"Not again," he sighed.

He texted her back, saying that he will. Even though, he will having a hard time with those obasans again.

"It looks like, it is going a hard day tomorrow,"  he says and cover himself in the blanket as he is looking forward for the next day to come quickly.

After the school ended, both Yagami and Kimoto were heading towards the Sakae-mart. Sakae-mart is the biggest market in that area. However, it will take them 20 to 30 minutes to go there.

"Kanon, why do we have to go to that mart? It is quiet far. You could go to the sunshine mart instead. My mother said that they are having sale too."

"Kumi, I asked you to accompany me to Sakae-mart not Sunshine-mart. I will go to that shop later or tomorrow perhaps” she replied and not looking at Kumi.

Kumi nodded. Somehow he understood what she meant. However, Kanon felt guilty. She don't want to upset him. Eventually, they arrived.

Kumi grabbed the trolley. Kanon put out her shopping list and started ordering Kumi. After half an hour later, their trolley was full of things. Then, Kanon realized they still had one thing left to buy. She smirked and looked at Kumi. Kumi noticed that grin.

"Kumi get me that beef please.." Kanon asked and pleaded. She show him where.

Kanon using her charm to make Kumi obey her. Well, he did. He walked slowly to the crowded area where they sell that high-class with cheap price. Few minutes, Kumi managed somehow to grab that precious meat. Before he put the meat in the trollet, he hold it high as if he won a tournament. Kanon smacked his head.

"Have you no shame! What are you doing? You are making a scene here."Kanon said half-shouted.

"Kanon, why did you hit me? That's hurt"Kumi said and rubbed his head.

Kanon laughed and walked to counter and Kumi followed behind like her servant. They paid for their things and left the market. Kanon was grateful that Kumi helped her because she sure bought a lot. So, she decided to treat him a drink at Starbucks. Kumi agreed and walked quickly to follow her pace.

Kumi is very thin but he can carry a lot of things (of course, he is a boy remember) He is taller than Kanon. He was sweating and his long hair stick on his neck and his forehead. Typical boys usually have a darker skin but in his case, he is fair. However, Kanon is fairer than him.

Soon, they arrived at Starbucks. Kanon bought two drinks, orange juice for her and ice latte for Kumi. Then, they went home by taxi because of the distance and their heavy things. They argued about the taxi fare which makes the taxi driver furious. In the end, Kumi paid for the fare because he insisted that Kanon paid a lot of things already. Kanon agreed anyway.

"Kumi-kun, you can put those things in the kitchen. I'll change and wait for me okay. I will cook something for you."

"Actually, Kanon I have some things to do but I'll be back"Kumi grabbed his drink and rushed to the door.

"What’s with him?"Kanon said and changed quickly. She went to her brother’s room and did her chores.  Then, she walked to the kitchen. When she finished, she sat in the living room, waiting for Kumi. Her throat was dry and she grabbed her drink.

"What? This is latte. That Kumi took my drink. What an idiot"she said and finished that latte quickly.

"What took him so long? I am hungry."

Kanon frowned. She drank his drink which means she had an indirect kiss with Kumi. She touched her lips. She could still taste the latte but she drank Kumi's drink. However, that was Kumi's fault not her.

"Tadaimaa.."

"Okaeri"

"I am sorry Kanon, you did wait for too long"

"It's okay, what is that?"Kanon asked when she noticed the pink box in Kumi's hand.

"I made this cake yesterday. This is for you. Thank you for cooking me a delicious dinner yesterday,"he said and smiled.

Kanon blushed. He is so sweet. She took that cake and thanked him. She invited him to dinner again which he happily agreed on. They ate the delicious katsudon together. Kumi ate his food happily. Kanon felt a bit guilty. Kumi helped her and he gave her a cake.

"I am sorry Kumi. I am sorry about earlier."

Kumi laughed.

"What are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong Kanon."

"No, listen Kumi. Actually I was ashamed that I am with you. You know, if we go to the sunshine-mart our classmate will see us. They will assume that we are a couple. I am very sorry. It was wrong of me to judge you; you are very kind and sweet. You helped me and you gave me that cake. I don't deserve it"

Kumi put down his chopstick and stared at her. Kanon was afraid that he was going to be mad at her. She is expecting a harsh word from his mouth. However, he smiled.

"I know that Kanon. You don't have to apologize to me. I know that you are ashamed of me. I am not that stupid. But I did help you right? It's okay. I wait until you acknowledge me as your friend." he said and smiled sadly.

Kanon was stunned. He has a gentle heart. He knew that I hurt him but he still helped me. Things became awkward between them. Kanon took that cake at ate it. It was so delicious. Kumi stared at her action and waiting for her to said something.

"Kumi, this is delicious. How did you make it?"Kanon said and avoiding Kumi's eyes.

Kumi was relieved. She ate his cake. He knew that was a sign for their friendship to bloom. Their relationship is growing. He is not expecting much. She befriends him.

"Hey, don't eat it by yourself. Give me some"

Kanon smiled and pulled out her tongue.

"No Kumi, you took my drink"she stared at him and smirked.

Kumi forgot about that and he bowed at her.

"I am sorry, I was in a hurry that’s why I took the wrong drinks and...."

Kanon hit his head and put a spoonful of cake in his mouth. So he could shut up.

Then they laughed happily.

Our Secret - Chapter 2

“But.. how?” said Kanon.

 “Just so you know, I don't look like this normally”said Yagami and pointed his finger at his face.

“Yeah, normally you look very creepy and nerd. Almost like an otaku”

 So, that's what you people said about me behind my back.

 “Honestly Yagami, I don't recognize you at all. I mean, why are you pretending and disguising yourself. You have a pretty face. If you tied your hair this, people are going to notice you.A lot of girls will like you”

  “You see, I am in a....”

 Kanon's phone is beeping.

 “I am sorry Yagami, if you don't mind. If you're thirsty, you can drink something from the kitchen. I have things to do at the back.”Kanon said quickly. 

 “Wait, Kimoto-san, I had..”

 “Make yourself at home “shouted Kanon as she limped quickly to her brother's room. (Her ankle twisted remember) Kanon almost forgot about her brother. She quickly gave medicine to her brother and making sure that everything is in right place.

 You can call Kanon, a perfectionist. She did her work carefully and she is very hardworking. She got high marks in academics and physical education. Once, she got an offer from the student council as a runner-up for the upcoming student president but she declined it because of her personal problem. However, she did help the student council doing reports and other behind-the-scene stuffs. Well, what you expect from the honor student, Kanon handled them very well.

 “Kimoto-san, I have to go and thank you for your treat”said Yagami.

 ....................

 .................

 “What are you doing here Yagami? Who told you, you could come to this room?”Said Kanon. She was very angry. This is her secret. Yet, this Yagami, naively went into this very room. Obviously,Yagami saw her sick brother lying on the bed with other medical equipment in this room.

 
“I’m sorry Kimoto-san, I didn't mean to. I did knocked but I assumed you didn't hear me”

Kanon ushered him to the living room.

 “Kimoto-san I had to go now and I am sorry about earlier.”

Kanon didn't answer him but nodded.

 Yagami was very clueless. He tried to talk to her but she remained silent.

“Look, Kimoto-san, I don’t know why you angry with me. Whatever I did, I really am sorry” Said Yagami guilty.

But, Kanon stay silent.

“Ok then, I will be going now”

Yagami went out without looking at Kanon, afraid that he might do something that will make Kanon angry. 

I’ll apologize to her tomorrow. But I wonder what I have done actually.

That night, at Kanon’s house.

That Yagami, how dare he enter that room. I will kill him tomorrow.

SCHOOL

“For the last time Kimoto-san, I am very sorry.”

But still, no answer from Kanon.

Yagami did everything he could. When the recess bell rang, he stands up from his seat and dragged Kanon to the rooftop. Their classmate were talking and whispering. Well, who wouldn’t, the popular girl Kanon and the creepy Yagami. Sounds like weird couple. Yagami took the risk.

“Kimoto-san I will do anything to make you forgive me. Anything” begged Yagami.

Kanon grinned.

“Anything you said”

She pulled a piece of paper

“What is this?”asked Yagami.

“You said, you will do anything right?” Kanon smirked.

That afternoon, Yagami went to Kanon house. He was panting and sweating. He cursed in his breath. I am not going to do this anymore. This is crazy.

He knocked on the door.

“Welcome back Yagami”

Yagami slumped on the floor and handed the plastic bag to Kanon. His hand was shaking.

“Please don’t let me do that anymore”he said.”Those plump obasans were like monsters. I don’t know how I manage to grab those eggs. They pushed me. Kimoto-san, please I am very sorry.”he bowed on the floor; begging.

Kanon patted his head.

“Nice work Yagami”said Kanon innocently.”I was going to go to market but Takayangi-san insist me to help her with her work. At the same time, that sale was so cheap, so I don’t to miss that cheap eggs”Kanon laughed lightly.

Yagami was amazed. How can she go to that crazy sale with her small body? She is scary.

“Come in Yagami-san, I made you curry”

Yagami’s eyes were shining. Finally!

“This is delicious Kimoto-san, I am so happy”

He looked like a little boy, eating his food happily.

“Yagami-san, why are disgusing? You looked different at school but when you are outside, you are like another person. Why is that?”

“You know the rules, Kimoto-san. Our school doesn’t allow their students to do a part time job. I have this thing that I do when I’m not at school.”he said quietly.

“and…. What is it?”

“I work at the nearest club in this neighborhood.”

“Are you a host?”Kanon was shocked.

“Hahaha, this is why I don’t let others know what I do. They often misunderstand the situation. Of course I work at a club but I am not a host. I play saxophone and piano there.”he said and smile.

“So, are your parents poor? I am sorry if I offend you Yagami-san”

“No, no, they own a bakery near the station. I work at the club, so that maybe some people will recognize my talent. Kimoto-san you know that I am not that good in academics. I think, I am going to work hard in music. Maybe this where my future is going to be.”

Then, Kanon’s phone beeping. She ran to her brother’s room and doing her work. After a while she went out to the living room. She found Yagami sitting on the couch.

“Who is that?”

Kanon didn’t answer. She clenched her fist then she sighed.

“He is my brother. He involved in an accident years ago. It was fatal. He did recover but he cannot move his body. My father did everything he could but still there is no cure. At the same time…”Kanon stopped and held her breath.”At the same time, my mother was having an affair with that man. She lived with him since then” 

Kanon sat on the nearest chair and closed her face. Yagami didn’t dare to move or doing anything.  He was trying to give Kanon some space to spill out everything that she hold in her heart.

“I don’t want to share this thing with my friends. I don’t want them to pity me. And I had to maintain my status. And…” Kanon cried, losing her courage to speak.

Out of sudden, Yagami hugged her. He comforted her and squeezed her shoulder.

“It’s okay Kimoto-san , I am here. You were strong. You’ve done very well. Please let me share your pain.”

Kanon stopped crying. As if his words, were the things that she had been waiting all this time. A comforting words. And a hug.

Yagami smiled at her. The sweetest smile Kanon ever seen. He is so cute.

“I am sorry Kimoto-san, I am going to work now. See you tomorrow at school.”

He picked his bag and put on his shoes. Kanon stepped beside him.

“Thank you, Kumi”she said and called him by his surname.

Yagami stopped and raised his head at the sound of his name coming from Kanon’s mouth. He looked at Kanon, trying to make sure of what he heard. Kanon wiped her tears and looked back at him. He smiled.

“You’re welcome Kanon”he patted her head and left.

Kanon smiled at his touch. Something is growing inside her. Something that is very pure. A new secret that only she know. Not her friends and not that boy.
